The color pink is as feminine and girly as it gets! We love the idea of pink dresses for prom or any other formal event, but it’s important to select the perfect shade of pink. Pastels are yesteryear and if you veer too far into “deep” pinks – it loses it’s appeal. We’ve found some really pretty pink dresses to match every price point and body shape.
This gown is from designer Jovani. You should know by now that they are one of our favorite designers. The price tag may cause you to jump back – it retails for $450. But the upside to it is that this is definitely a dress that you can wear for other events as well. The beaded strap, embellished back, and ruched bodice take this “simple” piece to elegant and unique. Check with your local Jovani retailer – maybe you can work out a discount. This hot pink dress stands out for so many different reasons. We imagine that this is a gown that Barbie may wear! It’s from Interlude, style # 8604 and available in sizes 4-12. the back has that wonderful pleated train and the it features fully lined cups for support. The bodice is beaded and cut in a curve hugging fashion to show off all your curves! Now we’ve found this at various online retailers for as low as $298
Available at 1stpromdress.com for $249 this pink fitted mermaid style gown features a laceup corset style back and tiered skirt. This is more of a hot pink hue – but perfect for your prom or quince at the same time.
If you are wearing pink to a formal event you should also pair it with silver or platinum colored shoes and accessories. You’ll want to choose makeup with complimentary hues and also keep in mind that metallic eye shadows accentuates the pink color family.
